Should I buy some more newborn covers...

Feel free to enable me I've never CD'd and I'm worried about not having enough...

I have flats and prefolds that I plan to snappi and 6 NB workhorse diapers. My first two babies were between 7.5 - 8.5 lbs at birth and both lost almost a pound after birth... I anticipate this one will be the same size if I go full term but I have some complications that might lead to an earlier repeat c-section this time, so I want to be prepared for a smaller baby...

I already have the following covers:

2 Preemie Imse Vimse Cotton
1 NB Prowrap
1 NB Rumparooz
1 XS Thirsties
1 size 1 Thirsties Duowrap
2 NB Imse Vimse Cotton
1 NB Imse Vimse Wool Wrap


The NB Imse Vimse really looks more like a small cover to me... they are so big! Soooo... I feel like I really only have 6 covers for a tiny baby. Do you think I should buy a couple more NB covers just to be safe and what would you recommend?

You can't go wrong with Thirsties duos or other like it, like blueberry mini coveralls or rarz

I'll enable you... Why not get a couple more duo wraps (or other 2 size system) they fit 6-18 lbs so you'll use em for longer than just nb.

I personally love lots of covers and like to have 8-10. I am really liking the nb rar covers while I wait for my newbie to grow into the duos. I love the duos the best though.

I'm not a good enabler I think you'll probably be okay! I went crazy and got about 10 nb covers and probably only needed 6...plus, even nb didn't fit mine for the first week or so (she was 6 lbs 7 oz and quickly dropped to below 6).

but in the spirit of enabling, go get some more cute ones

Thanks everyone! I'm going to get a couple more... now I have a reason to keep stalking FSOT... I like the idea of getting the smaller size in a 2 sized system, that will help me round out my small stash too! Maybe another RaR NB and another Duo 1

You are good on newborn size covers, you really only need 4-6. If you want to buy more covers, get the next size up. Babies grow out of the newborn size fairly quick.

I think what you have sounds good, I'm new to this as well but I figure after Baby gets here and if I misjudged what I need it won't be a big deal to order more. I'm on a budget so I would rather need to get something later then end up with too much, I also am not positive about what I will like so feel okay with waiting and seeing what works.

I'd personally get 2 more itty bitty covers - bummis superlites, superbrites, or originals are all super cute and great for newborns!
