Biblical Names
DH and I are thinking of names for our little embryos because we hope they turn into outside babies
![]() DH really likes the name Solomon but we already have a son named David. In the Bible, Solomon is David's 10th son. I think it's weird to name our kids names where they're father/son or mother/daughter from the Bible. DH says it doesn't matter as long as we don't give our kids names of husband and wives from the Bible. I do like the name, but not sure if I can get past the Bible relationship. WDYT?

Re: Biblical Names
I think it does not matter what everyone else thinks, but what matters is what you think. Some people will think that's weird, some people will think it's awesome!! Some will think it does not matter. But those who think it's werid will think "that's strange, but so what, i don't care."
Haven't we all met someone with odd names that we love so much and not care how odd the name is? ![]() As for what I think I personally won't go for it for the same reason you have, but I do ot think it's bad neither.

That relationship wouldn't bother me, and honestly I think a lot of people wouldn't even realize it. But if you can't get over it, don't do it. As pp said, it only matters what you think. And I agree on naming siblings husband/wife names--that would be weird. We are considering Jacob for the future and have a Joseph. Plus we have a Joseph and a James, so we've already broken your rule, lol.

Re: Biblical Names
My kids don't have biblical names, but my husband's siblings do. I don't know if/how they are related. They are Andrew, Rebecca, and Aaron.

Re: Biblical Names
I think if you like the name.. go for it. Who cares about what the actual relationship between the people in the Bible was. I think it's a great name.
God bless!

No worries! If you like it, go for it! We have a Luke and a Daniel. I love biblical names.

I have a friend who comes from a family of 10 kids, and they all have Biblical names. She's Rebekah, and one of her brothers is Isaac (husband and wife). There is also an Abraham (Abraham and Isaac-father/son) and a Sarah (Sarah and Abraham-husband/wife). I've honestly never thought about all the relationships in the Bible until this post. I don't think it's weird at all.

We have a Tobias (not exactly Biblical unless you're Catholic, since it's in the Apocrypha), a Malachi, and we're having a Leah.
Funny, I worried a little about naming her Leah because in the story she was the ugly sister. But in my kids' Bible te story is all about her and how God used her even though no one else wanted her. It really hilights what a strong woman she was. But I digress. I did tell DH that if we were to have twin girls we could never name them Rachael and Leah because the story has them so pitted against one another.

Re: Biblical Names
I think a lot of people won't make the connection. If you like the name I would go with it.
I have a Samson and an Isaiah, so I obviously like biblical names. I mostly just want my kids to be proud to share a name with someone they can read about serving God and doing great things. Congratulations!
