I know there was a thread where we all had "bigger" little girls that loved dress up!
I was looking through my junk mail from all of these "daily deal" sites and on Zulilly they have dress-up clothes for little girls up to size 8!!! This is such a rare find! I have a 7 and 9 year old girl that STILL love dress up sooo much, they are wearing there standard walmart dressup stuff still after 5 years and they are tattered and falling apart and now I can throw them all away because (I know I went overboard here) I just bought them 9 new dressup dresses!!! These are supposedly high quality like 25$ dresses marked down, I got Larges in most of the ones that were 9 dollars and a few fancier ones!! I convinced myself this will be for Christmas like I always do when I buy throughout the year but I dont know if I can wait that long since they are size 7-8 and my kids are already age 7 and 9. Although they are still wearing there 4 year old dressup stuff so I figure they will wear this stuff at least until they grow out of the dress-up stage.
I think new members get a 10$ or 15$ credit when they sign but that might be over now? Now Im off to search for the thread where we were all looking for dress up for our Post toddler girls!! Last edited by ~happy2Bamommy~; 03-26-2012 at 08:59 AM. |

I played dress up past that age but usually just used dresses my sister had lying around (and a pair of roller skates, would wear them and skate all over the basement, lol).

oh these girls play in the dirt in princess dresses, play in the treehouse in princess dresses..... This is why there little ones are tattered to shreds. Im happy to find these size 8s to update cause they are nowhere near close to giving up the princess dresses.

Re: I know there was a thread where we all had "bigger" little girls that loved dress
I don't know if you sew or not, but when my sister & I were around those ages, my mom hunted down old prom & wedding dresses at thrift stores, made a few alterations, and packed them all in a big box for a Christmas present. We both still say it was the best Christmas present ever!
And the quality of the dresses is better, since they're actually real clothes, not just dress up. I want to do this for my girls when they get a little older & the alterations wouldn't have to be as much.

Re: I know there was a thread where we all had "bigger" little girls that loved dress
Hey they love getting sparkly dress jackets and church hats from Goodwill!! I wouldnt know what to do with a adult dress but im sure i could chop it off and use some hot glue!! My 8 year olds does crochet so she might be interested in sewing but I dont know how to teach her!! If they are still doing dress-up when they get too big for these size 8 dresses Ijust bought we will have to move on to thrift stores for sure!
