What brand rice cereal did you start on?
It's such a big deal for me to introduce something other than my breast milk to my lo! I want something organic. What do you use?

Re: What brand rice cereal did you start on?
I made my own.
I used a $9 coffee grinder (hadn't been used for coffee...no hyped up baby here ) I used several different kinds of rice but ds preferred a mixture of brown rice and jasmine rice. I bought the rice from our local health food store. Here's a link that has some instructions and ideas. http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/cereals.htm

It's just as cheap (if not cheaper) and I loved knowing what was in it!

Re: What brand rice cereal did you start on?
I didn't start my kids on rice cereal after the first one. She got constipated right away after starting rice cereal so with the next three I started with oatmeal. With the next three I started with vegetables, squished avocado with the last one. They ate very little cereal/grain products for quite a while.

She is 5 months, I'm waiting until 6 months to start. I always thought you start with cereal? It's been 4 years though and my dd1 hated cereal so we skipped to oatmeal and mashed veggies.

Re: What brand rice cereal did you start on?
we never did cereal either, or purees for that matter. we did baby led weaning, starting at about 6 months. his first food was steamed sweet potato "fries". big pieces he could pick up and gnaw on himself

Re: What brand rice cereal did you start on?
We have never really given cereal. It is unlikely that your daughter needs anything but breastmilk yet you could easily ebf her for several more months and then start introducing fruit and veggies. Lots of people skip puree too and follow a baby led weaning technique. Poppy is 16 months and still primarily nurses. Her choice not ours. We offer her a wide variety of food but she is mostly not interested.
