Pliers.. Kam or babyville?
I bought a pair of babyville pliers a couple weeks ago and my snaps are being sqished (like the male part gets bent or the center point on the middle goes sideways) and basically making the snap unusable... Making the diaper go to waste
Anyways... Is it something im doing or.are babyville pliers just not good and I need to invest in some kam snap pliers? I always make sure the snap is in the dip side of the pliers.. So it's got to either be an issue with the part that smashes it together or im doing.something wrong... Sooo do I just have.a bad pair or is it me?

My guess is that the Babyville plyers are no good. I have Kam plyers, and I've never had that happen once. I'm not sure how you could be doing it wrong. It's pretty straightforward. A tip, though, use cuticle nippers to get bad snaps off your diaper. That way the diaper won't go to waste.

Re: Pliers.. Kam or babyville?
Do you have the correct size die caps on? I'm not sure about the Babyville pliers, but the Kam pliers came with the size 16 die cap on. I didn't notice at first and the first diaper I made had snaps like you described. Once I changed to the size 20 die caps my snaps are much nicer.

Re: Pliers.. Kam or babyville?
There was something about the pliers that you could exchange from the first round. I don't know exactly what but I know it fixed the problem.
Maybe ask over on their babyville FB page and see?

I have no major problems with the babyville pliers. I find them easy to use. I did crack a few snaps but it was user error.

It can happen with either pair . I have a kam set that I use all the time and it still happens to me every once in awhile. It may be slipping just a tiny bit.
I use finger nail clippers to get them off.

Re: Pliers.. Kam or babyville?
Babyville pliers are an old model of kam pliers. From what I've heard, it's the babyville snaps that are crummy rather than the pliers.

I needed some snaps in a certain color ASAP and my lam shipment wasn't here yet so I used babyville snaps with my man pliers and had no problems. I've been told that the snaps sometimes crack but that seems to happen more with the babyville pliers. I've really only heard negative things about them. Kam has some great deals on pliers right now. Check their fb page or blog or google kam snap coupons. I think they have one for pliers right now. Pliers for $2 with $50 snap purchase. Free shipping too. Also check etsy and amazon for bundles. They sell on those sites as well and sometimes the prices are better there.

Re: Pliers.. Kam or babyville?
You can switch to the larger die tray, which will help for the moment. Then contact Babyville and they will send you a new size 20 die tray. You can contact them through the Babyville Facebook page.
