I may try this this year! But I think I'll stick with my trusted night time diapers for night time

I've got some awesome tie dyed ones and my trusted ikea flats.

Need a tut for a camp style wash bucket.

I may give flats a try at night, but I don't think it will work for us. It would take like 10 each. Lol. But maybe if I buy a few hemp flats it would work better... :/

Re: 2nd annual flats and handwashing challenge!

I'm not going to be able to do it this year. I did it last year and enjoyed it, but I'm due on May 20th, and I have cute newborn diapers I can't wait to use! I don't want to spend my babies first week handwashing flats!

Maybe next year!

I saw in a documentary once where a couple went from making small changes in their regular life to going as far as cutting off their electricity and being as tiny as they could in terms of a "footprint". Ey started washing their clothes in the bathtub. Add water, insert clothes and soap, stomp with feet, drain, fill with clean water, stomp some more and drain. Wring out, hang to dry. It could work for us too if we didn't want to use the bucket method.

I'm excited! Last time that I asked when she would be doing it again (because DD wasn't born yet for the first one) she said she didn't know if there would be another one.

I have about 12 large Birdseye flats and 8 small. Do you think the Green Line bamboo soakers would count? They're one layer of fabric and I have a bunch! In the rules it says, "Any flat cloth diaper, store bought or handmade. A flat should be only 1 layer of material for easier handwashing and faster drying."

This may be the perfect excuse to buy more flats... I've tried to make flats work for nights before and just couldn't. 2 wasn't enough and I couldn't get 3 on her. I've tried 2 Green Line soakers to no avail as well, but maybe I'll try that again.
