Oh no! It happened to me
I just turned a bunch of white diaper covers pink! I washed them with a new red fleece cover. I didn't think fleece bled.
The worst part is that they are for my best friend who is having twin BOYS. She's pretty easy going, so I hope she won't mind. They aren't a brilliant pink, but definitely pinkish. I read some other threads on here and it seems like a done deal once it's turned colour. Live and learn...

Re: Oh no! It happened to me
I just did this (well, my hubby did) but not with diapers. I did a heavy duty wash, on hot and threw in two of those color catching cloths and maybe 1/8 or 1/4 cup of bleach and it all came out, even from my daughter's shirts that had colored designs or sleeves.
Did you dry them yet? |

Re: Oh no! It happened to me
It might come out, but if it doesn't you could always just dye the whole lot red!

Re: Oh no! It happened to me
all my cotton inserts are a tinge blue from a pair of jeans that somehow ended up in the washer with diapers.

Re: Oh no! It happened to me
Rit also makes a dye remover for bleeding in the wash. If you line dried you can still use it, but once you dry in the dryer I am not sure.

Re: Oh no! It happened to me
I have used the RIT on a pair of khaki pants that were washed with jeans that bled. I dried the pants in the dryer before I realized they had been discolored. The pants were cotton. I'm not sure how the Rit would affect the PUL. Also I wonder what it would do to the diapers, if it would affect absorbancy. I guess if you rinsed them enough it would all rinse out?

Re: Oh no! It happened to me
They're PUL covers: BSWW and Rikki wraps. I haven't machine dried them. Do color catching cloths work even if the covers have dried already? I'll have to go look for some when I get a chance. Or maybe I'll try dye them. How do you dye PUL? (Other than washing it with fleece)
Thanks for the suggestions, mamas

Re: Oh no! It happened to me
I don't know if it will work with the covers. I think as long as you didn't machine dry them its worth a shot. One of my daughters shirts and a rag and a couple of socks had dried. I don't know if washing in hot released the dye or if it was the bit of bleach or what but I was amazed at how much dye was on those dye catching cloths.
Yes, my husband washed my new purple shirt, towels, cleaning rags, socks and some of my daughters' clothes together. On warm. If that mess was fixable, I think it's at least worth trying to fix your covers

Re: Oh no! It happened to me
I'd try bleach and a couple of the color catcher sheets! Let us know what happens.
