Crafts from the last month *pics heavy* & my first dolls!

A newborn kitty hat I drafted a quick pattern for. For spur of the moment I think it turned out okay.

I finally finished ds1's batman tie I started at Christmas. Not perfect but considering I free hand cut the batman symbol out of felt ( had a picture of it on my comp screen) I guess it could have been worse!


I have been delving more into toy making (mostly for fun and for my kids)

Ds1 wanted a monster for his bday. He picked the pattern, the yarn, what colors he wanted where and the eyes. He loves it


I found a tut on pinterest for this cute little kitty or lion and although it wasn't in english the pics where enough to figure it out. He is just made out of acrylic craft felt since he was a prototype. He can't be heavily played with but the kids still like to sit and hold him gently I will be making play friendly ones for them later.




I made this little doll for a friend of mine that lost their tiny baby early on. The blanket is super soft and the doll is stuffed with wool roving and the hat is a wool interlock scrap. My first doll.




Dh and ds1 went camping this weekend to I stayed up (way to late) on Friday to make this baby for ds2 (it took me about 7 hrs with a couple tiny brakes to pee or check on the kids). It is FAR from perfect but ds2 loves it. He has been taking it with him every where and snuggling with it. He took it out shopping yesterday and whenever we got him out of the car he would grip it tight so we wouldn't take it and leave it in the car. It wouldn't have taken me so long to make but I hand sewed all of it (not my thing) and had to redo several things. I forgot how much knits stretch (since I don't sew) so when I cut out the body it had the right proportions. Once I stuffed it, it no longer did! I picked up some doll makers needles yesterday and that should make things easier, the eyes and mouth where tricky with a reg needle.





Last but not least, I made a batch of robot shirts! Cruddy pic but they are hard to photograph well. They look way cuter in person.

Thanks mama's I want to get the kitty hat patterned out but I don't have the time right now. Hopefully this year though!
