Please help - worms in chicken droppings

Update: I purchased Wazine from the feed store and have given all my chickens one dose. I will be doing a follow up dose tomorrow as recommended by the ladies at the feed store.

I have no choice but to integrate my chicks with the hens because we just don't have the space and we leave on Friday.

I was out with my hens today and noticed a large dropping and as I looked closer it had rice size worms in it. VOMIT. What do I do?

We are leaving for vacation in a couple days and I am getting ready to introduce my chicks to the rest of the flock.

I would not add the chicks until you resolve the worms. I have never de-wormed my hens so I don't know whats best. I have heard DE can work? We add some to our girls dust bath area and add some to their food.

Here a link I found

I agree, don't add the chicks until the worms issue is resolved. I think you'll need to treat everyone including the chicks if there was even one time that you didn't wash your hands going between the two groups. DE isn't for internal worms. You'll need to go to the feed store for a wormer and you can't eat the eggs while you're worming them. I'd cook them and feed them back to the hens. They would really benefit from the extra nutrition right now. If you have electrolyte I'd be using that too.

I got a dewormer but I dont have a choice and have to introduce the two groups together before we leave (limited space) so probably going to have to introduce them tomorrow

The chicks were originally at my MIL's because she had the space to separate them.

Everyone is going to be treated. The adult hens will get 2 treatments and the younger ones will get just one treatment as a preventative

please excuse craziness - I am on my phone. *casually searching for BG pocket in lovelace

Just a side note, will someone be there to watch them when you are gone? Integration can be a tough process. How old are the young ones? We just integrated our chicks and hens last week. Our young ones are 12 weeks old. I would not want to be gone for very long in case something bad happened. Adult hens can kill younger chickens.
