EWCM but no PPAF

My son is almost 10 months old, and I do not yet have PPAF. Over the past 2-3 months, I've noticed a few days of significant EWCM -- very similar to when I was ovulating. The first two times it happened, I marked the date to see if I would get AF ~2 weeks later. No and no. (I POAS just to be sure and no, I am not pg!)

Today, I again noticed a good amount of EWCM. This doesn't concern me, and we're taking precautions to not get pg, so I'm really just curious. Is this my body gearing up and then deciding not to ovulate? Or something else. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, it is very common to see those sorts of signs as your body is gearing back up for ovulation. The hormones can fluctuate for a while as your body is trying to sort it all out. It may continue for awhile (particularly if you are still breastfeeding) or you may see AF soon. Every postpartum return to fertility is a little different.

Thank you! I figured that was probably it. We're still breastfeeding every 2ish hours by day, and every 3ish by night, so it's not at all surprising that PPAF has yet to show her face. And she can take her sweet time, thank you very much!

You're very welcome! I know what you mean - it's nice to enjoy the break! My son was 10 months when my PPAF started.

I agree with PP. I had EWCM for 6 months before I got PPAF.

Agree, I was having intermittent bouts of EWCM for several months before PPAF showed at 13 months after my daughter was born.
