My ergo gives me hemorrhoids

Actually labor gave me hemorrhoids and carrying my now 22lbs toddler in my ergo irritates them. I have tried to carry him on my back and it is still too much. We both miss the closeness of babywearing, any suggestions?

witchhazel on a cotton ball will heal them up.

Have you heard of "Tucks"? They are witch hazel pads. Put them up there, and instant relief. Easier for me than having to wet up a wipe, or something everytime.

You might need to try a different type of carrier, it sounds like you are not getting the support you need. Your carrier should not put any strain on your pelvic floor

this. I can't understand how a carrier can aggravate your hemorrhoids.
I do know that the ergo gave me hip pains. I used it when DS was smaller and I had chronic pain in my right hip. I just thought it was due to having a c-section and all that, but once I stopped using the ergo and switched to the Boba, it immediately went away.

It's not that the Ergo itself is placing pressure on the pelvic floor- just that the extra weight from babywearing may be aggravating a weakened pelvic floor from pregnancy and childbirth. Getting the body back in alignment and strengthening supporting muscles like glutes can take bodyweight off of the pf and onto the skeleton where it belongs.
