C/S Question

Figured i'd post here. DD1 was a natural, vaginal birth. DD2 was an emergency c-section. (I had a cyst on my placenta/cord (where they meet) and while baby was coming down, her head was pressing against the cyst due to it's size and clamping the cord which ended up cutting off her oxygen) thus ending up in an emergency c/s. Well, she'll be 2 this August and my c/s scar is still very sensitive. I don't know many other c/s mama's, and I was wondering how long will this last?! TMI but I shave that area and going over the right side is still a PITA.

Re: C/S Question

I've had 2 c-sections; getting ready to have my third in a few weeks. I wish I could be more help; but my scar has always been numb; so I guess I have the opposite problem as you! I have very little feeling in that area. Have you talked to your doctor?

Re: C/S Question

My scar is a mixture of numb and sensitive (mostly numb above and below line and the scar itself can get touchy). I had 3 c-sections in 3 years and my youngest is 8 mos. old and so it's not been years. Just lettin' ya know your not alone, but have no advice on how to help it...

Re: C/S Question

I am pregant with my third. I had a C/S 18 months ago. It feels like there is sometimes numbness, and other times a little tingle. None of which I like! Luckily I love my son to bits and he was worth it.

Re: C/S Question

No pain in the scar itself, just lots of numbness up my belly, especially on the right side.

That area was already sensitive before my c/s and now with the scar it is also numb and sensitive at the same time. I had my first 6 years ago and my second 9 months ago. I'm not sure it every goes away

Re: C/S Question

I am almost 4 years out from my last c-section (9/2008) and it was my second section (first was 7/2006) and I feel normal down there. In fact my scars are barely visible. I did have a lap surgery a little over 2 years ago (scar in same area) and I am fine there too.

I think it just takes time to heal. I know I felt mis-shaped after my last c-section but over the years that has healed too.

Re: C/S Question

I don't know if it was the extra time or the second c/s but I felt numbness and sensitivity after my first. A little over three years later I had my 2nd and have had very minimal since it. It bothers me more when my weight fluctuates.
