Randome things that parents do that are annoying
Here is what I think is annoying.....not a huge deal but still, to me, just really unnecessary....when parents lift baby up, put their nose in baby's bum and take a big whiff in order to check the diaper. One of my daycare moms does this ALL the time. I change her daughter right before pickup, there is no need to double check. And even if she was soiled, they would still have to drive home and change it at home so why even bother with the sniff test here at my door, in front of other parents and such? I can understand a small sniff casual-like or a quick peek into the diaper but why do parents have to make a huge deal, hold the baby up high, take a deep breath in and make a big show over checking the diaper? I have three kids and a daycare and have never buried my face in some kids backside in order to check the diaper status. Its weird and gross to me and bothers me every time I see someone do it. Another friend of mine does this and again, makes a huge show of lifting baby way up high and sniffing over and over.....she could have changed the diaper in the time it takes her to decide the outcome of the sniff test!

I hate when people tell their kids they're playing with toys 'wrong'. As long as they aren't breaking/harming/ruining it, who cares?

The diaper thing is funny. If my kid was smelly, I wouldn't strap them in a carseat and drive them home that way - why do you think they would have to? DD gets car changes all the time I don't have a dcp or make a big show about it. But I do sniff if I can't do a easy visual. The thing that bugs me is when people micromanage everything - toys, new experiences, etc. just let the kid be curious and discover.

now that bugs me. If the diaper is dirty, change it. Even if you are only going to be in the car for a few minutes. It squishes all around on their poor booties.

I can't think of anything other parents do that I find annoying.
Just thought of something. When parents yell at their children in public. Children have feelings too. |

It really bugs me when parents threaten to spank over everything. I was in a doctor's waiting room recently and the probably 18 month old was wandering around the room exploring and the mother kept threatening to spank him if he didn't sit still. He wasn't even doing anything wrong! I'm not even against spanking, just don't threaten your kid in a room full of people!
