Vacation....

Where do you great lakes mama vacation. I am located in Illinois in Iowa border. Mlooking for a good vacation spot with in an 8 to 10 hour drive. Where do you go?

We're in north central IL (right on the WI border) and are heading over to Traverse City, MI in a few weeks for camping on the bay. It's about a7-8 hr drive from me, so maybe a bit further for you. Otherwise we've gone to Branson MO, Gatlinburg TN or the WI Dells, locally. All of our other trips have been further away (SC, FL, etc).

We were thinking maybe some where to fish. No camping for this girl andmy kids where by scared to death. An almost one and almost four year old. We wanted to go to fl but kinda scared about the drive.
