ultrasounds???
I was convinced by my doctor that ultrasounds are completely safe however I have been reading on here and finding mixed information. What have you all heard?

Re: ultrasounds???
They are generally accepted by the medical community as being safe but the full effects of them on the fetus/baby have not been studied enough to know for certain, HTHs

Re: ultrasounds???
I would try to keep from having too many, but I think you'll be fine with 1 or 2. I've read lots of mixed information. I know a lot of people that have far more than the "necessary" amount of u/s though and have babies with no issues.

I try to keep it to a minimum. One at the beginning and one at 20 weeks to make sure everything is ok.
My sister had to get a lot with my niece since they saw something with her kidneys and they kept checking it and she turned out fine. She's even in the gifted program at school. So I wouldn't worry about it to much if you have to get more.

Re: ultrasounds???
i think a quick one is not a huge deal as baby is exposed to sound waves anyway, but repeated and lenghty makes me nervous

I get them at every appointment because my pregnancies are such high risk and things change so fast. It's been like this since my first. For me, personally, it make me feel better because a lot of problems I run into won't show until its too late otherwise.
Now if I wasn't so high risk, I'd be fine with whatever is standard. Sent from my iPhone using DS Forum |
