Dr appt in the morning

Well tomorrow is my 12 week appt. I am not sure if they will be doing an ultrasound or not. I had a LEEP with conization a little under a year ago so the nurse said they will likely be doing transvaginal ultrasounds every few weeks until 20 weeks to make sure I don't need a circlage. But the Dr didn't say anything about it the last time I was there lol. Hoping I get to see the little peanut tomorrow

Anyone else have experience with having Transvaginal Ultrasounds every few weeks after having a LEEP done?

I haven't had either done myself, but I have heard of it being common after that procedure. From what I've read/heard it's just a quick scan to check how your cervix is holding up. They would just want to keep a closer eye on things to be able to catch it right away if something started happening.
Not comfortable, not pleasant, but I would want to err on the side of caution, kwim?

Hope for a great appt for you!

Re: Dr appt in the morning

Oh I am all about being cautious believe me. We didn't wind up seeing the baby today and this was the last time I will be going to this Dr because we are moving 8 hrs away next week. I would have liked to have had him through my whole pregnancy because he is the one who did the LEEP procedure so he knows the whole history but he said that if I were to continue going to him that starting at 16 weeks he would have been doing ultrasounds every 2 weeks for the remainder of my pregnancy. So knowing that information from him, when I go to a couple consultations I am going to talk it over with my new Dr to make sure they are on the same or a similar page. I feel confident that the Dr who did the procedure wouldn't be saying that if it weren't necessary.

Sorry you didn't get to peek at baby today! But that sounds like a great plan for the new Dr.
