Substitute for coconut flakes?
I'd like to make a treat that is normally rolled in coconut flakes. I'd like something sweet but doesn't need to taste anything like coconut. Just looking for the texture mainly. Can't be nuts.

Maybe try mixing oats in butter, sugar/honey and cinnamon and baking then. Cool and chop if it's too big. Mmmm now I'm getting hungry

Re: Substitute for coconut flakes?
Oats was my first thought, too. Crushed Oreos, Nilla wafers, pretzels (if salty would work), puffed rice? Mini choc chips. Walk down the cereal aisle and see what jumps out at you.
