What do you make shorties/longies out of?

A random friend who is pregmant is considering cloth and I told her about woolies and prefolds (she knits) and she asked me what kind of yarns you would use for shorties/longies? I have no idea!

What do I tell her (use full names though, idk if acronyms are on her radar..)

anything with 100% wool

if she wants to do from a local store like Michaels, the Paton's...but as soon as she tries "real wool" (like from dyers) she'll never turn back

anything that is not super wash will do for diapering
