5 year old is soooo Picky!!

Help,

Our 5 year old is so very picky when it comes to food being mixed together and refuses to eat almost all veggies! We used the baby-led weaning technique with him trying to prep us for this very thing but he was very allergic to many foods and now I am scared he has a complex.

Any thoughts?

The rule in our house is that you don't have to eat, but I'm not giving you anything else for dinner. There are minimal exceptions. DS1 literally gags on asparagus; he's not required to eat it. I'll give him carrot sticks or something instead. If he's hungry, he'll eat.

I cannot hold food back if they do not eat (my oldest is a heart kid and needs as many calories as possible). Our rule is eat what is made OR you can have a pb sandwich carrots and fruit. If there are allergies you can pick any other substitution.
