Unpaper Towels
I want to make some unpaper towels. I'm planning on make ones that snap together to make a roll. What are your favorite features of yours? Materials, size etc. I've never used them before but DH uses so much paper towel I would like to eliminate waste and the expense.

My husband, though, swears by the 2 ply flannel I used to make burp rags, which eventually became kitchen towels. I just made some of these today, since we are due with our little "Surprise" in a month, and all the burp rags had already been rededicated to the kitchen. They measure about 11" by 16": ![]()

Re: Unpaper Towels
Yeah, I know a lot of people do the roll thing, but really think about that before you commit to it because that means you would have to snap every. single. sheet back together after every wash, and there isn't really any *reason* to have them in a roll like that other than pretending you are using paper.
Simple birdseye works well for towels, though.

I made ours out of old recieving blankets, double layer, turned and top stitched. I did the roll thing because it's cute and I love my paper towel holder!
We also have a dedicated drawer in the kitchen for larger kitchen towels for big messes and drying dishes. I wash once a week and do the snap and roll on the couch while watching tv.
