Re: Making wraps?
Yes-it works very well! I used 5 1/2 yards of a stretchy cotton jersery from Fabric.com, cut it in half (44" wide cut down to 22" wide) and had two wraps instatly! It helps to taper the ends for tying, and sewing a little ribbon in the middle is helpful, too!

I made a flannel (so slightly stretchy but not much) wrap. I am planning on making a jersey one if I can't find my sleepy wrap for this baby. I used 5.5 yards (I'm a size 16) and it was MORE than plenty.

Re: Making wraps?
Are you wanting to make a stretchy wrap or a woven? You can make a woven out of Osnaburg. You can usually find that at Jo-Ann. Also a gauze material could be used to make a more woven type wrap.

Re: Making wraps?
I am currently wearing my 8 day old DS in a homemade Moby. I got 5 yards of jersey cotton and sewed it with a little help from my grandmother. Very comfortable and easy.

Re: Making wraps?
Not yet. Planning on making myself a shortie from Osnaburg. Currently trying to decide how I want to dye it. Thinking a bright red so that it's eye catching when I wear it.

I just searched to see what the width of other wraps were, and then made it 5 feet long, with tapered ends for ease of tying.
