how many newborn longies?/do nb longies need drawstring?

NEW QUESTION: Do newborn longies need a drawstring?

----------
I am busy planning/putting together baby's wool stash...so far we have:

1 pair knit longies
1 pair interlock longies
1 pair footies
1 romper
1 pair overalls (3m size)

1 felted Aristocrats soaker (nighttime)
2 knit dresses
1 disana sleep sack (not sure how useful it will be since we plan to swaddle)

I could do with another night-worthy soaker

Not sure if we will do wool full time or not, but we love to use it as much as possible! I didn't start wool last time until 5 months, so this newbie stuff is all new to me!

Baby is due close to new years

What do I need more of?

We had 6 NB longies. 4 colorway, 2 semi solid, and plenty of shirts. Didn't really wear anything else .

I`d do a few more longies and a sleepsac or two. I like to have around 10 pairs of newborn longies, just because I find in that stage I have less time to wash, so it is nice to have a larger variety.

Re: how many newborn longies?

I really used our longies and wish I had knit up more - maybe 4-5 and I totally wish I had knit a 2 sleepgowns with 2-3 soakers for underneath - those would have been awesome and all in newborn sized. Then a bunch in the next size up - but for those first few weeks of constant changing sleepgowns would have been super.

For those of you who use sleep gowns or cocoons, do you not swaddle?

No I dont swaddle at all. I use sleep.gowns. No cocoons. I also like to have about 6-8 longies for under the gowns.

I voted that it didn't really matter. We had some with and some without, and both worked equally well. For DD2 I am planning on having at least 8 pairs of longies.
