How big was your baby if he/she was born at 38 werks or very slightly b4?

Curious!

My other two were born 8 days late (8 lbs 14 oz) and 1 day early (8 lbs 4 oz).

It's looking like my last baby will likely be born around 37wks5days-38weeks. I have no concept of how big she will be!!!

Well i had one at 36 weeks 5 days she was 5lbs 10oz and then one at 38 weeks 1 day (I think). I was suppose to be induced at 39 weeks to control environment since I have percipitous labors and my first was born en route to the hospital. How bad is it that i don't actually know? Seems like it was 6 days before my scheduled induction at 39 weeks though. Anyway he was 7lbs 4oz. But I was always underweight until pregnancy which put me in the normal range. DD has always been 10 percentile or lower and ds 25 or lower. At 2 he just made it up to 50. So no one expects me to have 8 pound babies ever.

DS was born at 37w5d and was 7lbs 7oz.

(in comparison, DD came at 41w1d and was 7lb 6oz, so apparently, I go into labor when my babies reach a certain weight, regardless of gestation, LOL!)

DD1 born at 37 weeks - 7lbs 13 oz
DD2 born at 35 weeks - 5lbs 9oz
DD3 born at 36 weeks- 6lbs 4oz

Praying I go to 39 weeks with this little man. I'm almost 19 weeks now.

My 37 weeker was 7lbs 7oz. He came early by c section because he was in distress. Otherwise I think he would have been a 9lb 40 weeker had he come when he was ready.

Oh and we were told to expect a baby in the 5lb range with my 37 weened based on how I was measuring and my last ultrasound. Was pleasantly surprised with her weight!

Babies gain about about an ounce per day near the end, not a hard and fast rule but helpful for approximate weight based on your other babies.

I've Aldo heard that boys weight more in comparison to girl siblings at the same gestation, but girls tend to do better earlier than boys when it comes to lung maturity

Re: How big was your baby if he/she was born at 38 werks or very slightly b4?

Dd1 was born at 38.5 weeks and was 7lb8oz
Dd2 was born right at 40 weeks and was 8lbs5oz
Ds was born right at 37 weeks and was 9lbs7oz (they were predicting him to be a 12lb baby)

Being early doesn't mean a lot size wise. I had a friend who had a baby at 39 weeks ans he barely weighed 5lbs. So babies can be big or small no matter when they are born.
