Using Phonics Pathways after Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons

Hi!

I'm currently using Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons with my 4 year old DD. The curriculum I've been looking at for next year includes Phonics Pathways.

If anyone has experience with both, do you think using Phonics Pathways after Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons will be beneficial or will it be redundant?

I asked the company that put together the curriculum ( Timberdoodle) what they thought. Here's their response:

"Yes there is a bit of redundancy between the two programs. We sold lots of 100 Easy Lessons and like it, but we have switched to the Phonics Pathways in the core selection because you will end up with the phonics rules and therefore be a better decoder and speller as a result. So the answer from my experts is that it will be overlapped, but worth it to get the solid foundation from Phonics Pathways. Beneficial!"

So, I'm planning on using it for the upcoming year I'd still like to hear from anyone on this forum that has used both though.

I don't have personal experience yet (will be starting Teach Your Child to Read in a while), but in another homeschooling group, several mamas I know speak highly of using these two together. So, just wanted to say that I've heard good things about using Phonics Pathways afterward.
