10 m.o. mostly BFing . . . I'm hungry all the time!

My 10 month old gets most of her nutrients and all of her fluids from nursing. She does have maybe two purees a day, plus finger foods (which wind up on the floor and under her butt as much as they do in her mouth). She is not interested in water from a cup. My first daughter was in DC and used to taking from a bottle, so transitioning her to water in a soft-sippy cup wasn't hard.

Lately I've been noticing I'm starving all the time. I'm figuring a 10 month old needs more calories than, say, a 3 month old, so that's why? I have to eat a granola bar, sometimes two, when I wake up to nurse her in the middle of the night.

Plus she's nursing 6-7x per day still. I'm hoping to wean her sometime around 14 or 15 months, but she isn't going longer stretches between feeds like her older sister did, so I'm not sure how to get from here to there.

Any advice?

Can you put some of your milk into a sippy cup just to let her get used to it? My DD took a bottle, but we still gave her a cup to carry around and to start chewing on early. Eventually, we got her to take water and juice in it.

As for the eating, yes I agree with the more protein comment. It is hard to eat meat protein in the middle of the night for me, but I found string cheese or yogurt (if you can eat dairy) are good. Or a bowl of high protein cereal and soy milk (if you can't.)
