Babywear but don't co-sleep?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for some tips from families who babywear but don't cosleep. We have a two week old and I love wearing her, she seems to like it too, but do not wish to cosleep. She is in her crib in her room, right adjacent to ours. When your baby falls asleep in the carrier/wrap, do you put them in the crib? How do you make sure they don't learn to only sleep on/with you?

At that age I didn't worry about it. But as they get older I would start putting them down when they were drowsy. If they happened to fall asleep in the wrap I would leave them in though. It was just a natural progression of slowly taking more an more naps in the crib. We also coslept for the first couple months though and slowly transitioned to the co-sleeper, then the crib at night as well.

Makes sense sounds like a smooth transition!

I just let my 5-week-old finish the nap on me, or maybe swaddle him and put him in the swing if he's early enough (before 20 minutes) into the nap. We don't co-sleep either.

We cosleep, but I can tell you how I put baby down. I just loosen my ring sling or untie my wrap and slowly lay her in bed still on the wrap. I'll let her sleep in it until her first waking. It works great! Next best thing to still being worn.
