rocket bottoms, twist pattern

We've been using flats (and loving it), but we're approaching the solids stage, which means spraying <blech>.

I'm wondering how well flats might come out of the welt pockets on the rocket bottom twist pattern.

Any complaints or observations from this pattern?

Could you modify your flats into contoured inserts? Maybe you don't want to cut them up...
