Ring Sling length

What the correct length when using a ring sling. I have a Maya ring sling..... its a size Medium and I'm thinking it might be too small as I am 5'10". Should I try to trade it? Is it a safety issue? How does this work?

Re: Ring Sling length

It's not a safety issue as long as it fits around you. There is really a lot of leeway in ring sling sizing, the main difference is how far down the tail will hang, you really only need the tail to be 8 inches but an 8 inch tail looks pretty silly. Unless you are very heavy, I would think that a medium would work but the tail may be a bit shorter than you would prefer. I personally find that I prefer my slings on the shorter side, but that's just me. I can use pretty much any size.

Thanks for the response! I'm just going to wait until the babe gets here and see how i like it. I don't think its worth the trouble to sell it and buy a new one if its just a question of how the tail length looks! I'll definitely have 8 inches to spare so I'll probably just keep it.

I am 5'4 and bought a medium RS. I wondered if mine was too long.

I'm 5'8" average build, and I have a medium Maya Ring Sling. I used it with dd, I loved it and never had a problem with the length. Good idea to give it a try first. I had plenty of tail hanging down. Enough to cover the babe with and then some.

Re: Ring Sling length

I am 5'1" but heavy. I also like a long tail. I have a large and wish I had an x-large for the extra tail length. If you don't mind a shorter tail it should do just fine.

I also like a longer tail......no specific reason I guess, just what I gravitate towards. I am not so patiently waiting for Comfy Joey's two new colors to release and have been trying to decide which size I will order.

Re: Ring Sling length

I'd think a medium would hit between mid thigh and knee for you.
