Noise cancelling headphones for a child

Cross-posting in the main parenting forum, please don't delete me!

I read conflicting reviews on size and don't know what to buy. My 7yo needs a pair for an upcoming trip, I don't have time to return a wrong size and wait for new ones. His head is average to large I'd suppose.

Help? Cheaper is better as we only need them during certain loud times. Or- anyone have a pair they wanna sell me?

Re: Noise cancelling headphones for a child

I am curious about these as well. I really could use a pair for my 3 year old and my 10 year old. My 10 year old has a larger head than my dh so she could use an adult size but my little guy has an average head for a 3 year old.

If it helps at all, we have two pairs of these for my kids, and I wear them more than they do. We have a black pair and a pink pair. They both fit my kids fine (4 and 5 years old). The black ones fit me fine and the pink ones are a little tighter. I don't know if that helps at all. Oh, and they are the Peltor brand ones from amazon.

We recently got the Baby Banz for my 3yo. She has kind of a big head. I think they're good. They're about $25, give or take depending on your color choice.

We also use the Peltor headphones for my DS. We get the junior size for him and they were about $15 from Amazon.com

The juniors would have been too small. Everything I read said they fit a 3yo well. My 7yos head is huge! Lol

Re: Noise cancelling headphones for a child

Interesting.. they fit my 5 year old when others were too tight for him. Anyway, I was mostly just sharing for others who might still be looking. Glad you found a pair that work for your DS.

Re: Noise cancelling headphones for a child

Thank you so much! And thank you for the photos as well. That is a big help!

We live in an area that is due to the big cicada invasion soon and those bugs are so loud. I am concerned that it will be scary for my 2 sensory kids to go outside or even have the windows open. I also use a Blendtec blender to mix ds's medical liquid diet and the sound of the blender really frightens them both. Before I turn the blender on, I have to make a "I'm about to use the blender" announcement so they can leave the kitchen and even leave the living room next to the kitchen. My 10 year old is also scared by sounds ranging from the washing machine to cars driving by. I'm thinking she may feel comforted to have the headphones to grab at her leisure. And if my 10 year old is using them, that will make them cool to my 3 year old so he'll feel more comfortable to use his, too.
