We put one up that's "removeable". We put in a wood post along our driveway, it doesn't really "show up". A hook is on the fence post just inside the gate and then one is on the post. The loop part is on each end of the rope. When it's time to dry I hook up both ends - it lives in my laundry basket with my clothespins. Since I mostly only hang out pockets it's all kinda of colorful and "neat" looking not big adult stuff hanging out. And it's out for about 2hr at most. It sounds like a lot of work, but I think it takes all of 20 seconds to hook the rope up.
