Anyone else have a skinny LO?

DD 13 months and is in 6-9 months clothes. We need the big fluff to hold her pants up I don't know how many times a day I will get a comment about how tiny she is. I'm tired of smiling nicely and say yes she is a little one. OK ranting over

Re: Anyone else have a skinny LO?

yep, i've got two. my older daughter is 7 years old and a normal height for her age(50th%ile) but weighs just 42lbs and that's 4lbs more than she weighed 6 months ago. So that's a huge improvement. My younger daughter is 31 months and she's in the 15th %ile for height and weight(i forget the numbers). Everyone is constantly saying how little she is. Well people, she started off at a nice 4 1/2lbs. What do you expect??????

It's so frustrating. I know. But think of it this way. . .. . . .they get 2 years out of most clothing instead of just one or less, they are lighter to carry around, and they fit on your lap to snuggle longer!

I have a chunky one (he's thinning out now, but he used to be super chunky) and a skinny thing. I get comments about how small he is and dh calls him a midget...but he's actually tall for his age. He'll be 2 on the 22nd and he's got a pair of 6-9mo shorts that fit

Re: Anyone else have a skinny LO?

I have 3 skinny little girls that eat me out of house and home. my girls aren't tiny though. They are TALL!!! I'm 6'1'' DH is 6'5'' we didn't expect anything less. My 3 year old is still wearing her 12 monhs shorts this summer and my 4.5 year old is wearing the 2T ones. In Jeans my 3 yo wears 4 slim and my 4 year old wears 5 slim. My 5 year old wears 7 slim (they are about an inch too long but the 6 regulars are too short...I can't win!).

Re: Anyone else have a skinny LO?

I've got a skinny 3 year old. She will be 4 in december and she still wears some 18 month clothing. She weighs 27 pounds. She's also short for her age (30%). It is quite funny because everything I buy for my 1 year old. my oldest can fit into it too. She's fine and the doctors aren't concerned.

Yeah, we're still in 6-9 M. She was 19 pounds, 11 ounces at 1 year, 2 weeks (today).

She's been 75% for height, but hangs around 20%-25% for weight.

Re: Anyone else have a skinny LO?

my girls are both BIG...my oldest is gonna b 8 in 2wks, she's around 75% height and off the chart in weight
my 2nd dd is off the chart in height AND weight
and my ds, who will be 4 on monday, is a skinny little 33lber where hes about 20th% in both height and weight.
i took my kids and my nephew (who is almost 8 also, and is the same height as my 5.5yo and is only about 45-50lbs) to walmart one day, and i could just imagine the thoughts in peoples minds 'she starves her boys!' cause both boys are skinny and both girls are big

i got nik a pair of 9mt carters jean shorts and they're still too big in the waist! but he's got some hips so his hip bones hold em up

Re: Anyone else have a skinny LO?

ALL My kids are on the slim side!
DS is 7 1/2 and 43 lbs... all his pants have to have an adjustable waist or belted! he can get away with sz 4-5 in shorts!
DD is almost 6 and she is 40 lbs... she is in the 65% for height too.. only 2 inches shorter than DS.. she is in a sz 6 but has a baggy butt all the time and has to waer a lot of belts!
DD is 4 1/2 and 29 lbs.. she is in 2T and some 3t now.. she is super short !( below the 3rd % for her height) and in the 5th% for weight (finally!) but she was a 28 weeker,, so she has always been TINY..
youngest DD, is almost 22 mos, and is 18 lbs.... and 27 3/4 in... she can wear between 6-9 and 6-12/9-12 and even some 3-6 still ... and few pr. of 0-3 month baby GAP shorts still fit just fine!she is still wearing 0-6 mo soft shoes and sz small is cloth dipes!
her head is the only thing on the growth charts... it is in the 10% everything else is below the 3rd (as in, not even on a curve!)

she was a 27 weeker and she started out at 1 lb 11 oz , so i never expected her to be a GIANT, but ppl still think she is 8 months old.. when I tell them her birthday is just around the corner they assume i mean her FIRST birthday, not her 2nd !
So yes.. I know how it is with pants not staying up... sometimes Kirsten crawls across the room and just leaves her pants behind! we put wool and a fitted under her pants and that seems to help a lil!
