We had a bunch of my favorite cds in the delivery room. Of course I kept wanting the one song we didnt happen to have with us

It really helped me focus.

Now that I've had three, I'd say no. I like it pretty quiet. Although, during my second birth, my husband was watching a ball game (not exactly quiet) when the midwife said it would be a couple more pushes--he thought she was kidding and continued to watch TV--DD was born after 4 pushes total!
(DS1 was 17 hours of labor followed by 3 hours of pushing).
DS2 (baby three) didn't take long either, but during labor I asked everyone to be somewhat quiet. The lights were turned down and everyone was pretty calm. I think the momma really sets the mood for the rest.

the first one i did not, second i did but i don't remember what it was and this last one i did and it was Jewel's latest CD "Alice in Wonderland"

I took a mp3 player with me but I didn't use it. I went into labor at 11:30 at night so I tried to sleep some.

I did, but I made an mix & loaded it on my ipod ( I effin love that thing) Dh bought it and a little speaker system to hook it up to for me cause my birthday was a week before I had ds & he knew I wouldn't even thinking about it. So I had all kinds of songs I picked I thought would be good laboring songs. Dh put "Push It" on there as a joke, we was all laughing -until the pain got worst! But it was really sweet of him, think i'll go give him a smackaroo just think how sweet that was back then.

yes, we played by favorite gospel music -- the brooklyn tabernacle choir. I found it very relaxing.

I had my ipod all loaded up with hypnobabies and over 300 hours of tunes and I didn't use a bit of it in 27 hours of labor!

i didn't want any with my dd and i didn't have time with my ds (at hospital at 7:30am, born at 10:08 am) however, while he was crowning, johnny cash's song "ring of fire" was stuck in my head, lol

I voted no, but only because i didnt have an ipod when i had ds, but if i had another little one, i would take it then
