i think just saturate the dark spots, and let the sun dry the diaper

yes wash and then i put some lemon juice in a spray bottle diluted a little with water and spray the stains. let sun for a few hours and hopefully it lightened or disappeared. i always try sunning without lemon juice though because i don't want to have to rewash it. good luck!
