first attempt at fitted diaper
So I used the pattern from Wee Weka and shortened the wings and didn't add the second velcro. There is some major gapping and a fairly poor fit. I am wondering about maybe trying the very baby pattern. He is a long baby not chubby so i thought the WW might work. I used flannel outer is that not stretchy enough for a diaper? i bought crappy elastic from Joanns. will the lastin from online make a big difference? Any thoughts?

Re: first attempt at fitted diaper
I think it looks very good for a first diaper. If you used knit 1/4 elastic, I think it will hold up fine. I bought Lastin once, but I really only like it for my pockets, I find it too thin to comfortably sew a fitted- but that's just ME. From my experience it takes practice, and then if you move to a serger it's like starting all over again
(ie: my post below). Keep it up, it looks really good!

Re: first attempt at fitted diaper
I think it looks cute! I use stretchrite braided elastic 3/8 inch width from Joann's.
