BBLP too small???

I just read a review that said it was too small - her kid was basically sitting right in his pee after he went
please help as I would like to get one, but now I'm not sure

my dd is 7 months old, and kind of a chunk, she loves her bblp. I also take care of 16 month old twins who are not fat, and they really like it too. here are some pics.

Re: BBLP too small???

thanks for the pics - I've read other reviews that do not say this at all - but was just a little skeptical after reading it - i just purchased two of them
One for upstairs and one for downstairs

DD is 8 1/2 months and 20 pounds, kind of chunky but long and starting to thin out

DS is 2 1/2 and 28 pounds, tall and lanky

Re: BBLP too small???

def not too small. I've used it camping last summer. Sorry, no pic. I'm 5'7" 165 lbs. so I'm not little. DD 6 1/2 still will use it. The 3 yo and the baby use it too. Great for getting 2. Having several is great. We even have one for the car. My kids have all peed in the car or in it on the side of the road.

Re: BBLP too small???

oh, hope it wasn't me! i know in another thread i said this is a little shallow for dd at 3yrs, i want to clarify and say sometimes when she makes a big poo it is too shallow, i can't imagine peeing enough to fill this thing to the top!

and dd still uses it just fine, just occasionally would need extra wiping.

Re: BBLP too small???

the person writing the review was likely doing potty training with like a 3 year old. it wouldn't be my potty of choice for a child over the age of two if you were just buying one at that age (though my 4.5 year old still uses ours in emergencies in the car).

but they're a great size for babies and toddlers, and like i said, we still use ours in the car when we can't find a clean potty nearby for both my huge 2.5 yo and my average sized 4.5 yo. so i think you'll be fine with it.

i do actually prefer the Once Upon a Potty potties, though. we have two BBLP's and a OUaP and the OUaP has always worked better for us - seems to have a bit more support, a higher splash guard bit up front for the boys, and less likely to tip over. i'm planning on buying another one of those for this next baby. and larger toddlers/pre-schoolers fit more comfortably IME, though it's still a great size for smaller ones too.
