Andrea had her procedure today. Everything went well and there were no complications. The surgeon found Lymphonodular Hyperplasia in the descending colon, cecum, ascending colon, transverse colon, sigmoid colon and rectum. We will not have the biopsy results for 2 weeks. We have an appointment to discuss the results on 2-12.

We are now continuing the STRICT Gluten Free diet. The surgeon warned us that not doing so could lead to more significant health problems such as Lymphoma and Cancer.
We are home now and Andrea is eating well and resting.

We have an appointment with the nutritionist on Tuesday.

for you and Annie, mama! How did you come to discover that she had issues with gluten? I am pretty sure my dd has gluten intolerance, but we can't get a doctor to confirm it.

she had diarehha for 5 weeks and we were referred to a pediatric GI. They ran all kinds of tests and Celiac was one of them.

E's had several biopsies and they're never easy

I hope your LO is recovering well and sending lots of ppt for good results.

Good luck to you. It's really hard getting celiac disease diagnosed. Are you starting her on the diet asap? There are lots of good gluten free foods out there. My son has autism and we have him on a gluten free casein free diet (nearly two years now) and I've tried many good and many more not no good products. are any of her lymph nodes enlarged? Daniel has one on his neck that is getting bigger and bigger and the celieac test is the only that the GI doc didn't do.

Not that i know of. She hasnt "grown" in almost 8 months. We are geting ready to check her thyroid for growth issues.
I would go back and ask for the celiac test!
