Re: Lets talk about vaxing/non-vaxing/selective and delayed vaxing..
I was going to follow Dr. Sears' delayed vax schedule, but we decided not to vax yet. We'll be skipping the CP ones as well.

Re: Lets talk about vaxing/non-vaxing/selective and delayed vaxing..
I read the Dr. Sears vaccine book and found it to be helpful in clarifying the different issues around vaccinations and it seemed to be balanced reading which is pretty hard to find on this topic. We delayed and skipped some vaxs with our first and are doing even more of the same with number 2. I have Asbergers in my family too so I can understand your concerns. Good luck with your decision and just keep researching until you feel confident with your decision.

Re: Lets talk about vaxing/non-vaxing/selective and delayed vaxing..
thanks for this thread! My son recieved all his vax's on the regular schedule a dr. does, but with all the news I think I'll stop vaxing my daughter until I've read more information!
I'll be looking into that book that was suggested as well.

Re: Lets talk about vaxing/non-vaxing/selective and delayed vaxing..
I seen your message and became quite interested. Began researching and found this website, not sure if it helps, but perhaps, http://www.askdrsears.com/thevaccine...20Schedule.asp
I am a bit concerned b/c I have followed the doctor schedule with vaccinations and in august we will be coming up to ds 2nd birthday, which in turn means, more shots SO now I am totally unsure of what I will be doing about this. More research is necessary. I have been hearing more and more about autism but I just figured my mom had all of my shots given to me and everything went just fine, but then again, that was 25 years ago. Oh what to do ...

I'm with you! We followed the schedule up until now. Ds turns 2 in May. I already called to see what he is due for so that I can research & decide what, if any shots he'll get. We are skipping cp (although he has already had one). We are a little unsure about the others. I ordered the Dr Sears book & am doing research online as well to make sure I have all the information.

Re: Lets talk about vaxing/non-vaxing/selective and delayed vaxing..
I just got the Dr. Sear's book and another book by Dr. Kenneth Bock, and they suggest two different alternative vax schedules. We have been vaxing on schedule until now (which I feel guilty about after looking at these books), but we will be following an alternative schedule that is a cross between these two. I haven't fully read either since I've only had them a couple of days, but so far it seems like Dr. Bock advocates getting all vaxes even later than Dr. Sears' schedule; this may have to do with the fact that the Bock book is specifically about healing and preventing autism, ADHD, asthma, and allergies, whereas the Sears book is an objective overview of vaccines in particular.

Re: Lets talk about vaxing/non-vaxing/selective and delayed vaxing..
We are doing only one shot at a time and only what is "required" by Alabama to go to public school. So, at 2 months, Parker got Dtap. At 4 months he will get Dtap, @ 6 Dtap, then at his next we will get Polio, until that is done etc..
