New Ad Implementation

This is the thread where all questions about the new ad setup and the new promotion user group can be asked.

Explanation for those that wonder why these changes were made:
We are actually trying to get the ad units respected advertisers want to see on the site, so we can have the same level of professionalism large sites have. It is part of positioning DS for future growth. I know many of you think DS rakes the money in, but you are mistaken. We are spending a lot of money working on new projects ALL the time here. DS is VERY MUCH a work in progress and we do it all for our membership that loves this place.

Will we automatically be added into the user group where the ads disappear? I looked under options in my user CP and can't find out how to opt out of the ads.

You have to PAY for them to go away...just like so many other forum sites.

I can still see where they SHOULD be however there is no ad there, only a white bar telling me to pay to make them go away.

The announcement said that if we have more than 250 posts that we won't have to see the one's after the first post in every thread. But I still see them

It will automatically opt you in to the new usergroup to where you won't see the 2 ads after the first post in each threaded page.
