cloth wipes??

I am thinking of taking the plunge with cloth wipes - but I need a little help first!

What wipes do you recommend (on a budget please!)? And what sort of wipe solution?

Do you use a warmer or just run it under the tap each dipe change??

TIA!
Michelle

Re: cloth wipes??

I just use double flannel wipes or ones with one layer of sherpa (for its cleaning ability) and put a stach of dry ones in the bathroom and wet them as needed for dipe changes! It works great! I sell them on my site.. on sale right now too !

i just used birdseye flats until i got a few off a wahm here for cheap.... i like velour/flannel and sherpa/flannel ones and i like hemp fleece as a wipe as well....

as far as where to get them, most are about a dollar each with anything but flannel, but if yud like just flannel, there are some in wahm right now i think for cheap....

Re: cloth wipes??

I use Dixie Drops wipe solution and keep about five days worth of wipes wet in a 'sposie wipe box. I like sherpa/flannel and Tangy's "mystery" wipes:

I originally got just flannel/flannel but I found that other materials clean better. Also, I only like wipes that are at least 8x8.

Here's a link to Dixie Drops too:

Dixie drops in a spray bottle, dry cloth wipes in an empty sposie box, wet them as needed. I got my lovely wipes from Megan (ontariomama) and mommato2 on here. I have a mix of flannel/flannel & flannel/hemp or terry. I use flannel/flannels for just pee dipes & the heavy duty wipes for messes.

Re: cloth wipes??

I just use the cheap baby washcloths from Walmart or Zellers. They work great for us although the other options are probably softer. I use a foam bottle and add water, a touch of babywash and a couple drops of each tea tree oil and lavender oil. First time round I just wet them under the tap. Play around and see what works for you.

I have found I am the happiest with leaving the wipes on the counter by the sink & wetting them with fresh warm water as needed!

Re: cloth wipes??

I have made mine along with purchasing some from some WAHM's here. I used fleece, flannel, sherpa, velour, microsuede, cotton.. pretty much anything. They measure anywhere between 8x6 and 8x8 with a few odd balls of 5x5's or 5x6's in there for good measure. I like the 8x8's though.

Since they are all kept in the bathroom, they get wetted down with warm water. On the go, I use a bottle that has a baby bits dissolved in it.

good luck!!!

Re: cloth wipes??

I was given maybe 30 of the cheaper baby washcloths so I've been using them with regular tap water with a bit of lavender baby bath (I have it mixed in an old wipes container) and just wet them as I need them. But I recently bought some of Tangy's wipes and I love them I also have some Dixie Drops on the way and I can't wait to try them out
