nursing necklace

did any of you have nursing necklaces?

my 6 month old baby just started this new habit of pinching and clawing me while she nurses and i thought this might be a good idea so she could fiddle with a necklace instead of me....
i found a few that were like $20 plus shipping- i'm wondering if it's worth it though- i mean what makes it different than any other necklace? is it the perfect length or the type of beads?

any other ideas to stop her from ripping me apart while nursing?
i tried holding her arms down and that pisses her off and i tried taking her off the boob- and saying no but she just thinks that's hilarious...i'd rather just find something to distract her.

Re: nursing necklace

I've never used one but I've heard they're pretty useful. I was actually looking at some recently... here's some links to some that are a little cheaper on HC.

Re: nursing necklace

They are generally made with leather or hemp cord that a baby can't "break" or tear like a regular necklace. They usually also feature various shapes, colors, etc. to captivate baby's attention and give him/her something to fiddle with instead of your other nipple (ouch) or hair....Many are adjustable, for varying lengths (wearing vs. nursing).

I find them to be extremely useful with my 15 month old (very squirmy and easily distracted nursling.)

I've just added them to my site (www.jenncatsmeow.com) (link in siggy) in the $15 range with free shipping for DS members for a limited time.
