baby wearers - what do you do in the winter?
Granted, I live in central CA and it doesn't snow, but its cooler than where I used to live in the winter. Do you just wear a heavy sweater and wear your sl ing over that? Do you get a bigger sling?

Re: baby wearers - what do you do in the winter?
I have a MT and I can wear a sweater and still wear it comfortably. I also have a Storch on its way which I think I could wear w/ a l/s or something. If it was a ring sling or pocket it might cause a problem for fit.

Re: baby wearers - what do you do in the winter?
Here is me and DD#1 at Silver Dollar City 3 yrs ago. It worked out great! It started snowing a little so I covered her face with my scarf. The parents of crying stroller babies were quite envious!

Re: baby wearers - what do you do in the winter?
Where are you? I'd go to Old Navy and get a fleece jacket. That would probably be enough almost anywhere (aside from the mountains, where it snows) and they're light enough to easy wear baby over. On the rare occasions that I wear something that I can't wear a carrier over, I sling them under my jacket. There are also special ponchos you can buy (they'd probably be really easy to make too) that have a hole in the back below the neck and one in front too for wearing over a baby in a carrier.

Re: baby wearers - what do you do in the winter?
Cute picture!
I'm in MOnterey, CA. It gets chilly but doesn't snow or anything. I do have a fleece jacket. My Mom is going to try to make some slings from a ring sling pattern I found, so I'll ask her to make one really long, so I can adjust the size over a jacket or sweater. thanks!

Re: baby wearers - what do you do in the winter?
my baby was born in feb and I had a rs at the time. I would put on whatever I normally would wear (sweater, or long sleaved something), put on the sling, put her in the sling (wearing a baby gown and swaddled, and wearing a hat), and put my regular coat over us both. I had to hold it together in the front when outside to keep the wind off of her. but it worked.
this year I am moving to texas ![]() if I were staying up north I would soooo get a new mt with minky and a nice bwing coat. ![]() here are some links I found for bwing outerwear: Gypsymamas poncho (to make yourself or buy) sew your own maternity/bwing coat panel Suse's Kinder coat ATB 3 in 1 jacket (cuddle coat)
