two twins into a king...cosleeping
Hey! Anyone know of an insert you can buy or something that would attach two twin beds together so that we can make a king. The queen is getting tight for my hubby, 1 1/2 year old, and I so we thought about putting our two twins together....especially since we have another one coming in Feb!

Hmm... I've never heard of anything like that. But maybe if you put a king-sized mattress topper or whatever and use a king-sized fitted sheet (versus 2 twin-size) then maybe you won't be able to tell the difference.
But I'm not totally sure, maybe someone else can help out better. LOL

Re: two twins into a king...cosleeping
we've done this because the home we rent only had twin beds (and we can't afford to buy another bed), but it's not a king size at all. I doubt that it's bigger than a queen. (I don't know the exact measurements and maybe the bed sizes are different here) But if you still want to try....the ones we have have wood frames. We pushed them together and put a board in between the beds resting on the frame. Then we put high density foam to fill in the space between the matresses so there isn't a gap to fall into. Then we have mattress pads on top of it. Oddly enough, our girls don't seem to understand that there is a whole bed to sleep on. They only sleep on my side so there are 3 of us at times on one twin bed.

Re: two twins into a king...cosleeping
we have one that we got for that same reason when we lived in a furnished rental that had two twins. we got ours from the skymall catalog....can't remember exactly what store it was though. it's got a stretchy band that goes around the mattresses and then a sheepskin strip that goes over the bump in the middle where the two mattresses meet.

It won't make exactly a king, but it'll be close. I used to work at a furniture store, and the boxsprings for a king bed are 2 xl twins (so they're a bit longer than normal twins). But I would think if you put one up against a wall and then just bumped the other one next to it and used some kind of mattress topper, then it should work.
G/l! I LOVE my king size bed. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Here is something called a bed bridge which helps fills and covers the gap between the beds.

Re: two twins into a king...cosleeping
We just took a frame and made it king size bought a king box spring and used 2 twin mattress. We didn't need foam or anything. Added that foam thing on top and king sheets. you can feel the difference between the two mattresses but its not a big deal since im the one usually sleeping on it
