How to use Dawn to wash

Okay we have had lots of talks about using DAWN latelya dn I'm wondering how to use it without causing a big sudsy mess. So give me the low down how often to use it, in conjuction to what other things and all that good stuff.

Well, I don't know about everyone else, but probably about once a week or two I use a squirt (errrr....1 squeeze....) in my hot wash with my usual (teeny) amount of detergent.

Umm, I use it everytime. I use about a 1/2 a tsp. I do have to rinse more, but not having stinky dipes is worth a few more rinses. I have really hard water so wrinsing can be a problem. If you don't have really hard water you may not need to rinse as much as me. I actually just bought a small bottle to keep in my laundry room. I got tired of going to the kitchen when I needed it, and then having to back to the laundry room when I went to do dishes.

Here is my wash routine and it have been using it for almost 2 years and it works for me

Rinse off poopies with sprayer
fill washer for cold soak add a few drops of tto, tiny squirt of dawn size of a dime at most, and 2 tsp of tide I actually use the oxyclean scooper for measuring the detergent
let soak for a bit sometimes overnight
hot wash
warm rinse
warm rinse


No stinkies here so far

So can you just use dawn everytime you wash diapers, instead of detergent. Or do you still need to use detergent as well?
