Help! Cookie press issues.
Me and my cookie press do not get along at all. I bought a super nice one from Pampered Chef that everyone raved about. Well, I always have the same problem, and am having it again tonight. I am about to throw the dang thing out the window.
The cookies never want to come off the press. I have tried a million different tactics, and about every pan I have. All the same issue. Is there something I'm missing?

Re: Help! Cookie press issues.
Is there enough fat in the cookies?
eta: are you pre-chilliing the dough?

Re: Help! Cookie press issues.
Yep, plenty of fat, and I have tried chilling the dough, chilling the dough and the pan, chilling just the pan, not chilling either one, etc.
I did find out I have a friend that can't get hers to work right either, so at least I am not alone.

Re: Help! Cookie press issues.
I always have a little bowl of sugar handy and dip the press in the sugar before pressing the cookie - each time. You can use powdered sugar or even flour - if it's a chocolate cookie, you could even use cocoa powder
Edit: I might be thinking of something different... I'm thinking of the old fashioned kind that just smashed a cookie with a print. Are you talking about the kind in a "gun" that squirts out cookies? Last edited by GraceDancer; 12-26-2008 at 06:32 PM. |
