May Buddha Bellies ~ TGIF, April 10th

Happy Good Friday ladies... hope everyone is well today.

I'm good. We made it all night with no kids in our bed last night!!! They went to sleep an hour earlier.. 10!! So we are getting somewhere, they did put up more of a fight last night than Weds. night, but I'm up for the fight.. it's nice to have our bed back!!!

I made up a one size diaper yesterday.. I don't like it, so will be tweeking it.. I am almost done with my newborn diapers, so I'm looking at what to make next... I'm really not sure if I want to go with one size or just bump up a size.

I have a drs appt today... will get to schedule our section. My goodness, I will meet this baby in just 4 weeks from today... MAX! I'm starting to get nervous. I have confidence in my dr, but it's still not something I look forward to.

QOTD: What was your favorite toy as a child?

Mine had to be Barbie I guess. I spent a billion hours at least playing Barbie with all the girls in my neighborhood. The funny thing is now I don't let my DD have barbies. She has changed alot, and there is just soooo much crap that if you let them get into "I want Barbie" it can become very outragous and very materialistic... something I'm trying to keep her away from. It's bad enough she is a shoe addict and changes her outfit 3-5 times a day... I hate shoes and am happy in t-shirts and jeans.. I don't know where this alien kid came from..lol.

I'm feeling tired but overall pretty good this morning. I really can't believe that there is only 5wks to my guess date. I'm not nervous but I am getting excited to meet this little guy.

QOTD: Not sure I had a few. Probably my cabbage patch doll. I loved that thing and took it with me everywhere.

AHHH I have LESS THAN 4 WEEKS until my due date!!!!! Oh my goodness.. This is all going too fast!! I'm not so sure I'm ready for this lo to come out!

QOTD- I think that my favorite toys were either barbies or my dollys I LOVED babies when I was little so I'm thinking that my dolls got a bit more play time! I completely agree with you though Sommer. We had such a hard time with the little 5 year old foster girl we had because all of the barbies and other dolls look like little hoochies now! She used to get Bratz dolls from her mom and they would eventually disappear because they really aren't appropriate IMHO for a kid her age. I mean come on they have THONGS painted on, these ridiculously huge covered in makeup eyes and lips, and tiny bikini outfits! Seriously the child thought that THAT was pretty and that she needed makeup on to (in her words) "Look pretty like the doll for the boys in my class" People may think I'm crazy but NO WAY NO HOW will those dolls be in my house!!!

OMG... Bratz have NO place in my home!!! Someone gave DD an old beat up Bratz scooter.. I let my 10yo paint it...lol. I won't even let her look at them at the store.

Thanks to everyone that told me to call the Dr yesterday, I called and everything is fine. It at least made me feel better. I guess it is just part of getting closer!!

QOTD: Mine would be my dad's deer blind! I know, but in the summer it was our club house and we had such a great time in that little thing. The only other thing would be my bike...I was a tomboy and didn't play with dolls at all.

QOTD: I loved my bike, skates and skateboard. I hated Barbies and dolls (still do). I had a million Barbies too. because that's just what you buy girls! My girls DO have Barbies; however Bratz are strictly forbidden.

I also would let my lo's play with barbies because they do have some nice fully clothed normal shaped ones I just wish that they made more of them shaped like real people instead of Miss Skinny Minnie!

QOTD: My Little Pony!!!!! I HATED regular dolls, Barbie included. I'm such an animal lover though, that anything that was one I would gravitate to. My Little Pony was my favorite for all of my childhood. I had moms and babies, most of the houses, and A LOT of accessories. My Little Pony took up my whole room!

Just thinking about it makes me want to play with them again

I had Barbies, dolls, my little ponys and she-ra dolls. I don't really remember a favorite. I would probably say that I had the most fun just playing with my brothers and sisters. I am not sure how we got it (probably my mom found it somewhere) but we got this box of old electronic (radios, phones, etc) and we played spy with those things for months! We loved them!

ETA: My husband always teases me about buying my daughter Barbies. I know that she will want them some day and I will probably get her a few, but I don't really like them. I hate those BRATZ dolls too and will never have those around. My mom has some in her toy bins that are just the ugliest things! They also have a lot of small parts that my daughter likes to stick into her mouth.
