"Safe" laundry detergents???

Okay, I have been making my own detergent for quite some time, using the Dugar family's recipe. It's worked great for the most part, but NOT for getting poop stains of of my CDs!!!! Can someone PLEASE tell me SAFE detergents that are enzyme-free and EFFECTIVE for CDs?!

I can't get Charlie's around here anywhere And I really don't want to spend a ton to have it shipped, either Also, I just bought the Purex Baby detergent?? NOT good ratings on that website....bummer

Here's the recipe:
Powdered Laundry Detergent- Top load machine

1 Fels-Naptha soap bar
1 Cup Washing Soda
Cup Borax

-Grate soap or break into pieces and process in a food processor
until powdered. Mix all ingredients. For light load, use 1
Tablespoon. For heavy or heavily soiled load, use 2 Tablespoons.
Yields: 3 Cups detergent. (Approx. 40 loads)

I'm glad you asked cause I've been wondering the same thing- there are so many detergent options I don't know what to get. Will be checking to see what the answers are.

I use Purex Free & Clear. You can buy it the grocery store. I have read that Charlie's Soap can cause severe skin burning/reactions in some babies, so I did not try it...although heard good things about it and a friend uses it w/o problems. The Purex works great for me. I have the BumGenius One Size diapers. I wash one load in cold with 1/4 of detergent instructions and then wash it in hot with 1/4 of detergent instructions. ALL the stains come out...even the icky explosive diapers you get from breast-fed babies.

Yeah, I have always loved Purex, but wasn't sure if I could use it or if it was enzyme free...turns out it's "legal"! I stopped using it because of how many loads of laundry we go through here...I was trying to save money by making my own. I guess I can still make my own for our clothes, and just use the Purex for dipes.

Is it "enzyme"-free? (not exactly sure what that means, just that it's supposed to be not a good thing dipes) Where do you buy it?
