My son thinks that his baby sister is his "NEW PET"

My son was so sad when our dog went missing. It just so happens that his baby sister was born a short time afterwards. He thought that we had purchased his sister to replace the dog. I've explained to him that his sister is not his pet, but I don't think he fully understands the difference. He accepted my explanation until recently when she started to crawl.

LOL! We have a similar situation here, where my 3 year old is always being told not to touch my daycare baby on the face. She says to me, "But mom, I ws just petting her!"
