Appetizers
Anyone have any suggestions for an easy appetizer? I have to bring one for a family Christmas party and I'm not coming up with anything. Thanks!!

Re: Appetizers
Spinach artichoke dip Let me get a recipe.
SPINACH ARTICHOKE DIP 1 large sour cream 1 box frozen chopped spinach 1 jar artichoke (puree) 1 envelope savory herbs with garlic 1 bag shredded Italian cheese 2 fresh baked White Mountain breads In a medium to large saucepan, heat the sour cream add the frozen spinach (does not need to be thawed). When both are heated and mix well add the jar of pureed artichoke, mix well add 1 envelope of Savory Herbs with Garlic; mix well. Add the whole bag of shredded cheese and mix well. When the cheese is melted and well blended, remove from heat. Take one of the White Mountain Breads, and remove most of the center, creating a bowl-like interior. Pour spinach dip into center. Cut the removed section and the second bread into small pieces and place on tray around bread-bowl. Enjoy!!

Re: Appetizers
if you go to allrecipes.com and type in appetizer there are loads of recipes. You could also take some tortillas and spread some plain or veggie or whatever kind of cream cheese on them, layer some ham and turkey slices, roll them up and slice. They are very good. And you can add lettuce or anything else you want to them.

Re: Appetizers
my new fave:
buy a chunk of brie cheese (i prefer pasturized) a small container caramel sauce 2 apples some form of crackers melt the caramel in the microwave and pour on a serving dish, set the brie cheese in the middle and surround with crackers and cut up slices of apples. easy, cheap, and tastes delish! you just put a little of the cheese/caramel on whatever you pick and enjoy! |

Re: Appetizers
Quote:
Buy 1 8oz jar of good crab meat (the kind you find in the fish market, around $7-$8 jar, not the lump crab meat but the next best) 1 8oz block of Cream Cheese 1 small jar of cocktail sauce 1 box of triscuits Unwrap cream cheese and stick on small serving tray, cover with cocktail sauce and dump the crab on top. Done! Delicious! I know it sounds gross and is a tad unsophisticated, but will be the top pleaser at the party. Enjoy |
