Sleeping

When does a "newborn" stop sleeping" all the time and become part of the family? My 3rd DD is almost 7 weeks and she still sleeps 95% of the time...and as much as I should know this I have NO idea when she will stop sleeping less.

Re: Sleeping

I think my DD started really wanting to stay awake during the day right around 8-9 weeks.

Re: Sleeping

I guess it just varies from baby to baby (maybe that's why you don't remember when it should be even though you "should" ). DS stayed wide awake a lot of the day from maybe 2-3 weeks on and only woke up at night to eat and go right back to sleep. I started babystitting a friend's baby starting from the time she was about 7 weeks old though and I remember she practically slept the whole time she was here until around 10 weeks old (but she also did a lot of crying at night). So I guess its just different depending on the baby.

Yes, it differs from baby to baby, but sometime after 6 weeks. So maybe 6-9 weeks?

Re: Sleeping

Definitely varies based on the baby. Both of my kids are sleepy heads. Ds is 7 months and still only likes to be awake for at the most 3 hours at a time. DD is almost 3 and sleeps 10-12 hours at night PLUS her 2 hour nap during the day.
