Fried Rice?
Okay, I want to try my hand at making a stir fry, and want to do fried rice with it. We use brown rice in our house... how can we make fried rice? I don't like many veggies, and hate onions, so anything that is just really simple would be great!

Re: Fried Rice?
Cook a batch of rice and refrigerate it. Scramble an egg in a bit of butter and add in some veggies (we usually use frozen stir-fry mix). Chuck in your cold rice, and add more butter. Soy sauce to taste and you're done.

Re: Fried Rice?
The key to cooking fried rice is the amount of water used. When I cook fried rice, I used minute rice, but use half the amount of water. (2 cups water to 4 cups rice) Put soy sauce in the water while you cook the rice.
Use a skillet to cook pork/shrimp/chicken. I also use green onions, yellow onion, bean sprouts, and scrambled egg in my fried rice. I always let the yellow onions green onions and bean sprouts cook with the meat of the meal, because I hate them raw! ![]() Then, toss everything in the wok, mix, heat, and serve. |
